In the summer of 2023, Rebecca was preparing to climb Lenin Peak (7,134 meters), while Lukas was planning to complete the 1,300-kilometer Gröna Band trek after they met that spring. Something came up for Lukas, so he was unable to finish it in one go; he had to cut it short after 800 km. Then, after Rebecca joined him upon her return from the Pamir Mountains.
We hiked together another 566 kilometers over 23 days with 15,683 meters of elevation gain in the Swedish mountains, camping through two weeks of nonstop rain and climbing Sweden’s highest peak Kebnekaise 2102 m with our dogs Kira, Momo, Taiga, and Fridtjof.
This was our first long hike together, after which we came up with plenty of plans for future tours together lasting several weeks and covering hundreds of kilometers.
