Into the Wild

About Us

Two people who met in the rain—and a valley where they stayed.

Lukas and Rebecca with their dogs on the farm

The Story

How we ended up here

We found each other in Kiruna and fell in love on a multi-week, wet, rain-soaked hike in Sweden. We probably thought: If you can handle two weeks of nonstop rain with the other person—and still stay in a good mood most of the time—then they’re the one.

In autumn 2023, we decided to build something of our own. Our daughter Maja was already on the way, so we started looking for the right place for our growing family. We found it here in Norway, in Nordreisa. Near Reisa National Park lies the village of Oksfjord, where we moved in summer 2024.

A place to stay. We can plan our summer and autumn training freely between 6 and 40 km, and the winter trails start right outside our door.

The Team

Who will take you on tour

Rebecca

Rebecca’s dedication is admirable, the dogs come first, in spring, all dogs are meticulously combed and groomed. After every run the paws of all dogs are carefully checked and in the financial planning for the next year the dog enclosures, the expansion of the free-run area for the dogs are top priority. (Quote Lukas)

Experience:

  • She and her dogs have reached three summit ascents over 5,000 m (Ararat 5,137 m in Turkey, Kazbek 5,054 m in Georgia, Yukhin 5,130 m in Kyrgyzstan). The highest point with a dog is at 5,800 m in Kyrgyzstan.
  • 7-week tour with Lukas in Spitsbergen in a private organization (over 500 km across glaciers, valleys and mountain peaks). Additionally, 560 km across Sweden.
  • She has stood with her dogs on more than 30 peaks over 2,000 / 3,000 / 4,000 m in 16 countries.
  • She worked three winter seasons in Lapland as a guide.
  • 13 years of experience with sled dogs, racing and long tours (over 500 km). Started with the first dog in 2013.
  • 3 medals at European Championships and over 50 medals at international sled dog races in 8 countries. Longest race: 108 km, 2nd place.
Guide profile

Noemi

I’ve loved animals since childhood – I love being with them and caring for them. My first Siberian Husky is over 13 years old. What brought me here – to Northern Norway, helping out at my sister’s husky farm – all started with him.

Guide profile

Meike

I am a guide driven by passion, a love for the nature of the North, for sled dogs, and above all, for our guests, to whom I get to share all of this.

I first came to Northern Europe in 2020, and Scandinavia hasn’t let me go since. The nature, and the untamed strength and endurance of the sled dogs, captivate me like a spell.

I started training as a canine physiotherapist because the well-being of the dogs is paramount to me in everything I do.

I have known Rebecca and Lukas since 2022, and I look forward to leading the adventure tours.

Guide profile

Lukas

Taiga, my first dog of my own. Everything started with her, and since 2013 I have been traveling with Nordic dogs. The love for nature, the dogs, and the people—our guests—is what brought me here.

I stand for authentic adventure and love sharing my experience and knowledge. My favorite of all the tours is our mountain tour.

Experience:

  • I have been traveling in the mountains of Sweden and Norway since 2013.
  • Since 2022, I have been working as a full-time guide for sled dog tours (tent and mountain tours), and I have had the pleasure of leading over 50 week-long tours and more than 300 guests.
  • Vita Band (White Band) with my own dogs – 1,509 km 45 days
  • Multi-week tour in Svalbard
  • Crossing Finnmark by dog sled with two guests

My motto in three words: Love, Adventure, Passion

Our Philosophy

How we work

Our dogs come first

Animal welfare and animal care matter to us. For us, that means: no chaining with individual dog houses, but enclosures in small and larger groups. And exercise even when it’s not the season—simply because our dogs should get outside and see things.

Small groups instead of mass tourism

We’re one of the smallest husky farms in Norway—and that’s how we want to keep it. With us, you drive your own team, not in a convoy behind a big group.

What’s on the plate

On our tours, we serve regional food. Some of the tea comes from herbs we grow ourselves or forage, and a highlight is the fish we catch ourselves and prepare fresh. The moose meat comes straight from our valley.

We don’t offer meat from factory farming—only fish we catch ourselves, wild game hunted by neighbors and friends, or meat from local sources. Whether gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, or with specific allergies: Let us know and we’ll put something together that fits.

Let’s get to know each other

We’d love to show you all of this ourselves—with the dogs, in the snow, over a coffee by the fire.
