The House

Arrive and feel at home

Oksfjordhjem is a detached, modern holiday home with incredible mountain views. You'll be here within minutes from the main road, yet the house is nestled in nature: no cars, no busy road, no noise. The property includes 19 hectares of forest.

There are no direct neighbors, but there's us: we live across the road and are quickly available if you need anything. And if you like, you can get to know our sled dogs – purebred Greenland dogs, Siberian Huskies, and Alaskan Huskies.

Contact
  • When can I check in and when is check-out?

Check-in from 3 PM until late evening, check-out by 11 AM. Just let us know 20 minutes beforehand; we live across the road and will come to greet you.

  • Will I have the house to myself?

Yes, the entire house is yours. There are no direct neighbors, no busy road, and no light pollution. Just you, the forest, and with a bit of luck, the Northern Lights.

  • Can I see Northern Lights from the house?

Yes, directly from the terrace. Northern Lights are visible from late September to mid-April, as soon as the sky is dark and clear. The best months are October, February, and March. In summer, the midnight sun shines instead.

  • Can I bring my dog?

Very gladly, and at no extra charge. Dog bed and bowls are provided, and beautiful trails for hiking, canicross, or bikejoring start directly from the house.

  • How does the booking work?

You send us your desired period via the form. We will reply by email to confirm availability and then send you all the details and the invoice. Payment is conveniently made by bank transfer.

  • What is the best time to travel?

Honestly: every season here has its own magic. Northern Lights and snow in winter, midnight sun in summer, Indian Summer in autumn. Check out the seasons above and choose your moment.
