The details of the tour
If you would like to sit with friends or family on a sled pulled by 10–14 huskies through the arctic winter landscape for about 12 kilometers, enjoy nature, and make friends with cuddly dogs, then this is the right tour for you.
We drive at a leisurely pace through wooded terrain along a river – with views of the mountains – or across an approximately 5 km frozen lake. A team of 10–14 dogs pulls your sled; up to four people can ride per sled. Halfway through, we take a break: time to cuddle the dogs, drink tea, coffee, or hot chocolate by the fire, and enjoy bread with melted cheese and butter. At the end of the tour, the dogs get a snack and lots of petting.
Of course, we will provide you with the appropriate equipment: warm overalls, polar boots, hats, and gloves are included in the price.
Services & Procedure
• Duration: 4 hours, approximately from December 1st to May 1st, starting between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM
• Includes: Putting on winter clothing, preparing the dogs, transport to/from the starting point from the Husky farm, guided sled ride of approx. 12 km, break at the campfire with hot drinks and snacks
• Equipment: Warm overalls, polar boots, hats, gloves
• Flexibility: Snow conditions may vary – in some years the season may start as early as November or end before mid-May
• Age restriction: Children from 10 years of age can participate when accompanied by a parent; for younger children, see the child-friendly husky adventure tour
Price, Transfer & Booking
• Price: NOK 2,515 per person
• Includes: Guiding, equipment, snacks
• Not included: Transport to/from your accommodation
• Transfer on request: NOK 500/person
• Cancellation due to weather/problems: If the tour has to be cancelled and an alternative date is not possible for you, we will refund the full amount
• Booking & payment: Advance booking by e-mail to info@intothewild-norway.com. For appointments on the following day, please call. Payment by bank transfer after receipt of invoice; the booking is only confirmed after receipt of payment. Bookable up to at least 2 months before the date.
• For guests at Oksfjordhjem: Payment before the start of the tour by bank transfer (according to invoice) or by credit card is possible.
Notes
• Depending on the weather conditions, we drive into the valley or over the frozen lake.
