Northern Lights Husky Week

General Information

• 4 hours per day on the sled
• Ages 14 and up
• Each guest typically drives 4 dogs
• All tours are personally guided by us, the owners.

Suitable for beginners with no prior experience. However, you should have a basic level of fitness and be able to manage a multi-hour hike. On ascents, we need to help the dogs by pushing the sled.

Program Overview

Detailed Program: 6 + 2 Days

On arrival day, we will pick you up from Tromso airport and drive together to Oksfjordhjem. There you will have time to settle in. After equipping you with winter gear, we will provide the first briefing. During a subsequent dinner, we will discuss the further course of our shared adventure.

The next morning, after breakfast, we’ll set off. We’ll harness the dogs together and depart. A day tour awaits us, where we’ll learn how to drive and guide a dog sled. After an extensive tour, back at camp, we’ll pack our gear and load the sleds for our multi-day tour in Finnmarksvidda. With a delicious dinner, we’ll once again enjoy the comforts of the accommodation.

The following day, we’ll drive to the parking lot, and then it’s off to our first wilderness cabin.

After taking care of the dogs and enjoying a jointly prepared dinner, we’ll wind down the evening in the sauna or with card games.

The next morning, we’ll continue to our second destination in Finnmarksvidda. A small cabin, located to the east, offers a bit more seclusion.

From here, we’ll take our time and unload our luggage. We’ll go on an extensive day trip and return in the evening.

Afterward, we’ll drive south across Lesjavri back to our first cabin.

On the last day on the sled, we’ll take another extensive tour over the Fjell before returning to the car.

Each daily stage involves approximately 4 hours on the sled.

Once we’re back at the parking lot, we’ll return to the husky kennel.

On a cozy evening by the fireplace or campfire, we’ll have plenty of time to share our experiences and slowly wind down the holiday.

The next morning, it’s time to say goodbye. We’ll take you back to the airport after breakfast.
