Midnight sun arctic week

If you want to discover the beauty of Norway through enjoyable and different activities in warm wheather, non-stop daylight, relax in a beautiful holiday house surrounded with wild flowers and green forest, this tour is for you! Midnight sun, colorful nature, artic summer and very exciting programs every day…. After this week for sure, you will feel that it was a real adventure.

We take one group per tour with maximum of 6 person, which is accompanied by us during the week.

The price does not include the travel insurence and the flight tickets what you have to fix and pay for yourself before you are coming for the tour.

What to bring with you:

– hiking shoes

– sunglasses

– warm clothes also (it can be from 10 deegrees and windy until 25 and sunny everything) and waterproof clothing if you want to have your own (pant, jacket, rubber boots)

Program 6+2 days:

1st day: arrival

2nd day: huskyfarm visit, hiking with or without a husky

3rd day: wildlife watching RIB boat trip in the fjord

4th day: kayak/canoe tour on Reisa river, Ovi Raishiin

5th day: Alta UNESCO rock paintings and midnight sun watching (fishing)

6th day: bicycle trip

7th day: riverboat trip to Mollissfossen

8th day: departure after breakfast

Details:

On the first day, we will pick you up at the airport in Tromso or in Sorkjosen. The fantastic route is perfect for letting your gaze wander and marveling at the impressive mountains and the famous norwegian fjords. Once you arrive at Oksfjordhjem and you settle in, we prepare dinner over an open fire. Local delicacies await you.

The next morning we will show you our huskyfarm, what is a home for nearly 40 fantastic sleddogs. Meet his wonderful animals, ask everything what interest you about them and dogsledding: how to train them, how to feed them, how to take care of them. And of course, they crave your caress and give for you kisses. We lace up our hiking boots and go for a hike. The difficulty level adapted to the guests, the place adopted to the wheather conditions, from a flat trail to a real mountain hike, everything is possible. Up close to a glacier, to the famous stunningly Blue Lake, to a mountain peak with endless view of the fjords, gathering berries in the valley through streams and pine forests, looking for reindeer and moose, enjoy the lot of colourful wild flowers… We decide the destination together. A good meal will of course be provided in between on a peaceful spot.

The third day we are going on a wildlife watching boat trip. This is a beautiful boat trip in the endless blue fjords surrounded by huge giant mountains, where we can admire the amazing wildlife on the sea and costs and be very close to this special nature. Because it is on opened tour for everybody, there will be probably several more participants on the tour, not only we.

The fourth day we are going to row down with kayaks or canoes on Reisa river, what is home for huge salmons and eagles. It is an REALLY exciting tour in a real wilderness, for sure you will remember it. 😊 But before we start on the river, we will visit the Ovi Raishiin visitor point, from where we have incedible view down the the river. The rowing distance and difficulty we decide together with the group.

On the fifth day, we will go to Alta, where we will visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, which, with thousands of paintings and engravings, provide exceptional evidence of various aspects of the life, environment, and activities of prehistoric Arctic hunter-gatherer societies. In the late afternoon, we go down to the sandy beach. We cook dinner on a campfire and watch the midnight sun as it reaches the horizon and rises again. We will bring SUP and kayak, fishing rods, volleyballs, badminton rackets… and tents. We will sleep in nature and drink our morning coffee on the beach with a spectacular view. Those who do not want to sleep in a tent will be taken back to the Okfjordhjem holiday home.

The sixth day promises a mountain bike tour in our beautiful valley with a hope to see wild animals like moose and birds… River crossing, pine tree forest, campfire, waterfall, suspension bridge… We adapt the intensity of the route to suit your needs. The delicious packed lunch that everyone receives will keep us going. Anyone for whom this is not enough hard by then is invited to conquer the Luovosskaidi mountain and take a selfie at the top. The rest of us can keep warm around the campfire. When the temperature is enough low, we can take with us huskies who wants. They are attached to our bikes and helps for us (similar like electric bikes but with herats).

On the seventh day we are going for a riverboat trip on Reisa river up to the incredible huge waterfall, Mollissfossen, an eormous masses of water dropping 269 metres creating rainbows between towering cliffs and deep forests. When you are standing near to it, you feel the power of the nature, the waterdrops on your face…

On the last 8th day, we will take you back to the airport after breakfast.
